Cover Love: February Picks

Cover Love

Cover Love is an original feature here at I’m Loving Books. At the beginning of every month, I round up all of my favorite covers from books I’ve read the previous month and tell you what I love about them! :)

Wow, I can’t believe it’s the end of March! I totally forgot to do my Cover Love (again) and so this is definitely late. Hopefully I’ll be able to remember next month! :)

Last month I read 17 books and novellas, including 6 young adult books, 3 paranormal romances, 4 urban fantasies, 1 historical romance, and 3 novellas.

Out of those, 5 made the cut for this month’s Cover Love:

Third Grave Dead Ahead by Darynda JonesTitle: Third Grave Dead Ahead
Author: Darynda Jones
Series: Charley Davidson, #3

What I Love:

I really love the covers for this series. They’re so Charley. She’s the grim reaper yet she’s girly and sarcastic and just really light-hearted and fun.

So I think the cover really sets the mood for the type of book this is: hilarious. Love the colors and the sneakers under the sexy dress. My favorite cover is still the first one with it’s girly pink-ness. But this is still just as much fun.

Everneath by Brodi AshtonTitle: Everneath
Author: Brodi Ashton
Series: Everneath, #1

What I Love:

This cover. It’s phenomenal. It draws you in with the smoke billowing up around her dress, the pops of red, and what appears to be her dress and herself spiraling away from her.

All of which are perfect metaphors for the book and absolutely represent the story perfectly. Which, if you’ve ever tuned in for my previous Cover Love posts, you know I love. I love it when a book cover actually means something to the story.

So perfect cover, good book. Check it out.

Under the Never Sky by Veronica RossiTitle: Under the Never Sky
Author: Veronica Rossi
Series: Under the Never Sky, #1

What I Love:

Again, this is a cover that means something. The spooky branches she’s being almost sucked into represent the wasteland (a.k.a. “The Death Shop”). I love how it looks like they’re swallowing her whole.

Also the colors are great. Love the blue with the touches of orange going into the unknown.

Very powerful cover that represents the strength of Aria going into the unknown.

Glimmer by Phoebe KitanidisTitle: Glimmer
Author: Phoebe Kitandis
Series:None

What I Love:

So many awesome covers for this years releases. Honestly this is one that really doesn’t represent all that much in regards to the book. But it’s freakin’ gorgeous!

The girl is very pretty, but what does it is the colors. It’s soft yet bold at the same time. I also love the Glimmer word waving around in the water.

It doesn’t really mean much to the story, but still a great and really eye-catching cover.

The Selection by Kiera CassTitle: The Selection
Author: Kiera Cass
Series: The Selection, #1

What I Love:

Okay, what girl could resist this cover? I’m always a sucker for a cover with a pretty dress. I think because I never get to wear them!

But seriously. The colors, the phenomenal dress, and the reflection of herself makes for an amazing cover. I also love the crown looking embellishment above the title, which totally represents what the girls are “going for”.

On a side note, I love that she looks like how America is described in the book. I hate it when covers have models that look nothing like the characters are supposed to look.

Lol, you love female covers, I prefer a hot man on the cover :)

    • haha Don't get me wrong. I love a hot man on a cover. I just didn't really read any hot man covers in February. I'm sure I'll be adding The Darkest Seduction to my Cover Love for March picks though. :)
