Abi Fairchild is a teenager living during the racial turbulence of 1964 in a small Alabama town. When she and her friend Becca overhear a conversation about a girl kidnapped and stashed in a maintenance tunnel under their school, the two investigate. What they find is far more sinister than anything they imagined, and soon they are running for their lives. Her uncle, Sheriff Wesley Johnson, meanwhile, finds that she is being pursued by a vengeful enemy from his past, after finding out that Abi has escape the storm that had ripped through her high school. Wesley races against the clock, hoping to find the three missing teens alive, while Abi has to keep the town from taking justice into their own hands. Because a lynching is being organized, and their target may actually be innocent.
