Saving the world is such a bother when it makes you late for tea. By day, book-loving wizard Lily Singer manages library archives. By night? She sleeps, of course. In between, she studies magic and tries to keep her witch friend Sebastian out of trouble. Much to her displeasure, he finds it anyway and drags her along with him. From unmaking ancient curses to rescuing a town lost in time, Lily and Sebastian fight to avert magical mayhem. Meanwhile, Lily’s mysterious past begins to unfold–a past hidden from her by those she trusts most. Will she be able to discover the truth despite them?
Love, Lies, and Hocus Pocus is an urban sorcery fantasy about the wizard Lily Singer, as she studies magic and keeps her equally magical friend Sebastian away from trouble. The pair unmake curses and rescue towns lost in time, all the while dealing with Lily’s mysterious past. Fans of the Harry Potter series and Circle of Magic will enjoy this paranormal magic fantasy novel that will keep you hooked until the last page.[mk_button dimension=”flat” corner_style=”rounded” size=”large” icon=”mk-li-cart” icon_anim=”side” url=”https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DB5ITIK” bg_color=”#57c8c3″]VIEW ON AMAZON[/mk_button]
What the Readers Are Saying
I didn’t expect to be more than adequately entertained for a bit given the description, the title, and the artwork. I was floored to find myself getting g into this story and enjoying it! This author has a real gift. She needs to lay off certain phrases such as “she/he smirked” and find more descriptors and facial expressions but I understand that. But this series has real, real potential and the author’s imagination is true. I hope she keeps on challenging herself and goes for the gold because this could become amazing!!” – Angela, Amazon reviewer ★★★★★
This book is a lot of fun, there is magic and artifacts, wizards and witches and more. It follows the adventures of Lilly and Sebastian, they are almost opposites in their personalities, but they are so fun together. Their personalities sometimes clash, but it also felt that due to their opposites they worked well together.” – Lola, Amazon reviewer ★★★★
I really enjoyed this book. It had complex characters that slowly revealed the nuances of their characters. It had touches of romance that hinted at more to come without everyone immediately stripping off their clothes (yay!) It had ghosts and bad guys getting taken care of and a plot that made me want to keep reading to find out what happened next, I also enjoyed that it was written for an adult to enjoy versus the teen/young/paranormal genre. Well done!” – Liz, Amazon reviewer ★★★★★
